Narrated by the founder
I come from a place where people don't succeed, and nothing destined me for diamonds. When I founded Maison Zari Zavar in 2020, I was twenty-six years old, with no training and no inheritance. I found a room overlooking a courtyard on Rue Vendôme in Lyon, which I transformed with my own hands into a small workshop.
the meeting
High jewelry entered his life in 2015 when he met his new neighbor, a master setter renowned throughout France for his talent. For the first time, everything made sense. Diamonds, gold, and precious stones changed his life.
Eager to get started, he created Maison Zari Zavar without training or knowledge, with only the conviction that he would succeed. Without hesitation, his neighbor joined him on his adventure and passed on expertise that artisans rarely share. One morning, out of recklessness, having never crafted a piece before, Zakaria called those who create for the great houses of Place Vendôme. He presented himself as an experienced master setter and was entrusted with the creation of a feline. This was the first piece Zakaria had ever crafted with his own hands. When the piece underwent quality control at this prestigious Place Vendôme house, Zakaria received congratulations, and a relationship was born with the houses of the most coveted square in the world. What no one knew was that it was his very first piece.
This was the revelation of the new talent of Place Vendôme.
Working on the invisible detail
No word better describes Zakaria than meticulousness. Where most eyes stop, his continue. The inside of a ring, an update, the flexibility of a hinge, a metal shaving on the grain of a diamond—he works on things no one will ever see, with the same exacting standards as for what is visible. This obsession has become the Maison's signature.
